They deliver...

So one of the great things about Buenos Aires is that all the restaurants stay open WAY late. And almost all of the eateries deliver as well. They even deliver ice cream to your front door. Packaged all cool with dry ice and everything. Its midnight and you are craving ice cream and don't want to leave because you are in the middle of watching Lost on tivo...just give them a call and within 15 minutes, you are eating some of the best ice cream on the planet.

How all polar bears feel in 100+ degree weather.

The Buenos Aires Zoo. Why did we go? Not really sure other than the fact that it cost like $2 US to get in.

Mi Amor

Taken about an hour after we got to our flat the first day. It is about 100+ degrees and the ever so wonderful Copa Airlines (insert sarcasm) did not transfer our bags when we switched planes in Panama from Orlando. So, wearing the same clothes for over 24 hours and she still looks beautiful.

Our Flat in Recoleta - Buenos Aires

Besides the fact that the people we rented the place from stole money from us (hey, they were kind enough to leave the passports, ipods, credit cards and went straight for the cold hard cash) I'd probably use their services again. Great space and great location. Lots of great apt/lofts.

Not even Jesus could protect our flat from being robbed...

Luckily, we had all our camera gear with us. Whoever the mystery person was (there can only be 2 people as there were only 2 other people who had a set of keys to the apartment - the landlord and the cleaning lady) walked off with $204 US dollars which is a lot when converted into Argentine Pesos or better yet, Uruguayan Pesos. The same day we went to the National Bank to an ATM where the machine, unbeknownst to us, gave us counterfeit money. Fantastic.

Hanging Out

This is how the trip began. Everyone asks me, "what did you do in Argentina?" Well, what everyone does in Argentina, we just "hung out". There are people EVERYWHERE on the street just hanging out. What is hanging out? Leaning up against something with one arm, relaxing your hip with your other arm rested on it. They just stand there and watch as people go by. It is fantastic. I took this around 8am the day we arrived at the Buenos Aires airport. Little did I know then that this pose would be what we would say every 20 feet.

MLKDay.

It is crazy to think that this was not that long ago.

Uruguayan Past Time.

Everyone, everyone, EVERYONE in Uruguay had a thermos under one arm and a mate in the other.

Things are looking up.
