Luckily, we had all our camera gear with us. Whoever the mystery person was (there can only be 2 people as there were only 2 other people who had a set of keys to the apartment - the landlord and the cleaning lady) walked off with $204 US dollars which is a lot when converted into Argentine Pesos or better yet, Uruguayan Pesos. The same day we went to the National Bank to an ATM where the machine, unbeknownst to us, gave us counterfeit money. Fantastic.
