Cameron & Andy - 10.16.10 - Artesia MS

A Baptist Choir that sings while shielding you as you walk down the aisle? A band that plays for 5 hours straight and sounds better than anything you'd hear at the Apollo back in the day? AWESOME. A big thank you to Cameron and Andy for having me out. It was one of the coolest celebrations I've ever attended. And the ribs they served for lunch before the wedding? Best meat that has ever graced my lips. DIVINE!

You can view the whole event and order prints HERE.

And tech info, this is the last wedding this year I've shot on FUJI 400H. All shot on a Contax 645 w/80mm f/2 lens + 35mm f/3.5 lens, Holga, and Polaroid 600SE. Film on the Holga was Kodak Portra 800 or Kodak Tri-X. The instant film is FUJI FP-3000b. This will be the last wedding you'll see of mine on FUJI 400H as I have liquidated all of that film (over 800 rolls) and have switched over to the new Kodak Portra 400.

I was scrolling through these and admiring, as I usually do, until I reached the photo with the fan in it. At which point I realized that I knew Andy; his parents and mine are great friends! It's 2:30 in the morning on Christmas Eve where I am, which is the excuse I'm giving for not recognizing him on sight. My parents decided not to attend the wedding, as Virginia to Mississippi is quite a trek, but I'm betting they'll regret missing it when they see the photos!

These are fantastic. The Fuji 400 looks great, but the Portra is a wonder.

Merry Christmas, Jon, and best wishes for 2011.

FABULOUS. I feel like I was there and it was magical.

I love the use of a tripod (or the nearest book-and-table equivalent) on the dancefloor with the lanterns. The motion blur of the people, vs the sharp background, is a nice touch. This wedding was one of your best in recent months, IMO.
