FUJI GF670 - Lehi V

The FUJI GF670 can go from square format (6x6) to horz (6x7) with the click of a switch (though not mid-roll). This was taken last week on a family session all shot on the FUJI GF670. I've been shooting this camera mostly in 6x6 format just because I don't see the world horizontally and square is "safe". However, I've been forcing myself to shoot 67 format horizontally only. If you follow this blog, you know I don't shoot horizontally very often, if ever. I refuse to shoot this camera vertically, EVER. What are you doing to push yourself?

i really commend your willingness to push yourself out of your comfort zone ... and i know that great things will happen as a result! Can hardly wait to see those great things!! :-)

That's a kickass exposure, sir, if I may be so potty-mouthed. As for pushing myself, I am working towards being that photographer i always dreamed to be while I was in college some years ago. Somewhere, somehow, I got lost in The Machinery (what I call the Industry because it sounds cooler)

Shooting for myself constantly, whether I am out with friends, shooting a job, or just wandering by myself I always try to push myself to take those shots that I would normally be to scared to timid to take. Push myself and step out on that limb even if its something I don't normally do.

Also I have been limiting myself (*equipment wise) more and more to see what I come up with. I feel the more I struggle when I am shooting for myself the more I thrive later down the road, its a constant need for better and greater things and I am struggling to get there.

I LOVE limiting myself. I don't want a lot of options and I love problem solving especially with one tool. You can make it work, you just have to step out of your comfort zone.

Ooh. I love this photo. Sometimes I like limiting myself to only one lens (during a portrait/engagement session). Or forcing myself to shoot in mid-day light.

I have been shooting FILM...and this week only shooting with my 50mm on either 1.4 or 2.8 if there is more than one person. Love to push myself too. This shot is freaking grand.

Pushing myself by forcing myself to shoot vertically!!! Exact opposite of you. And shoot film exclusively for all personal work. And my first wedding this Saturday as all film (but im a second shooter so not as much pressure). Going to use my new contax 645 80 at 2. See what I can do. Thanks for all your inspiration and motiviation.

So gorgeous and SO true for me, the never shooting horizontally part. I think I will try that out! Thanks! And good luck with the surgery for your little one!
