Golden Gate

I had no idea until this year that at one point there used to be a military post right above the Golden Gate bridge equipped with missile launchers, machine guns, a prison for any prisoners caught etc. All there are now are tourists standing waiting for the fog to clear to get a good shot of the bridge.

Apparently, the Golden Gate bridge was considered a target by the "enemy" and they kept it well guarded. Now there is only rust and rubble and slight remnants of what used to be.

This is right off HWY 101 heading back into the city off of the "saulsalito" exit.
