2nd shooting for Kat Braman on the Leica M6

In July, right before FILM IS NOT DEAD Chicago, I assisted my good friend Kat Braman at a wedding there in Chicago. I actually 2nd shot a wedding. First time EVER 2nd shooting for someone. And I wanted to try a different approach to what I usually do. Shoot it all on a Leica M6 with a 35mm Voigtlander 1.4 lens + Nokton 50mm 1.1 lens. More fly on the wall, capturing anything and everything I wanted instead of having all the pressure of getting everything. I love how this turned out and I love how it made me see differently. A big thanks to Kat for having me out.

2 thoughts.

1: Wedding photo trends seem to be Candids>Portraits>Candids>Portraits, and it switches about every 4 or 5 years. Candids are coming back BABY!

2: Anyone can take a good portrait. Not everyone can be in the right place at the right time, anticipate events, think quickly and expose correctly. Candids are MUCH more satisfying.

Jon, that statue of the person holding Christ. Just remembered we had one once. I wonder where it went to? The pictures are fantabulous!
