My FILM IS NOT DEAD San Diego Peeps

These are the fine folks who attended the first session of FILM IS NOT DEAD San Diego. I heart them, HEART.
(MATT WHERE WERE YOU???!!!)
And don't ask me how my eyes got all crazy on that last shot. I blame Ryan.
And to get super geeky, on the technical side of things, there are no ACTIONS run on this other than the toning to keep it consistent. They were shot on FUJI FP-3000B. The negatives were then scanned on an Epson 4990 flatbed scanner. The images were then inverted, then the flipped horizontally to make them right side up (not backwards). There were no textures or anything added to them whatsoever. It all comes from drying the negatives with a blow dryer and handling them like baseball cards :).

Fuji FP-3000B - Multiple Exposures

We were sitting around the pool after the first night with all the FIND peeps and Ryan got to talking about multiple exposures. I had never tried it before this night. The results were RAD.
The second to last shot is a combination of my face and Cary Norton (the white version of me). Pretty unreal.

FILM IS NOT DEAD HARDCORE

Today I start the second session of my workshop FILM IS NOT DEAD. This was taken last week at the get together the night before. Deanne, one of the attendees, months before the workshop got hardcore about FILM IS NOT DEAD.
So, so awesome.

Tanja Lippert's Workshop

Me, Wen, Manus, Ryan, Ryan, Rebekah, and Shannon attended this workshop back in May. I was really intrigued as what she does is completely on the other end the spectrum of what I do (high fashion). It was definitely outside of my comfort zone for sure. If you are not familiar with Tanja's work, seriously, do yourself a favor and check this natural light fashion body of work HERE. I think what I love is that most of that work you see at that link was shot with a Nikon F100 and a 35mm lens (super cheap set up). It's not about the gear folks, it's about your vision.

Lisa & Josh - Mill Valley CA - 5.28.2010

Lisa was chosen in PDN's 30 under 30 this past year (which is HUGE!!!). It is always a huge honor when I get asked to shoot other insanely talented photographer's weddings.
You can view the whole event and order prints and such HERE.
