Mother / Daughter Night - Pilgrims Landing 2nd Ward

My wife asked me if I would come and take photos at our church's activity called Mother/Daughter Night. We did some portraits of the mom's with their daughters but what blew me away were these little kids. Every single one of them totally unique in personality which I think really shines through in these individual portraits. Most of the people there have no idea what it is I do let alone what my name is as I am gone a lot on Sundays due to weddings out of state etc. They were a bit weary of me and why I had a camera with me and the strange thing dangling from my neck (my light meter). But in the 20 minutes I had with everyone before they started their "make-overs" I totally got what I wanted, the light in these kids eyes.

PS. There is no photoshop or any "actions" run on these images besides cleaning the images for dust/scratches from the film being scanned. They are all straight out of camera shot on a Nikon F5, Fuji 400H film, 50mm lens, 1.4. right around sunset. Oh, I heart film.
