OKX - made my week.

So, tonight while looking up shows coming to the great beehive state, I saw that Rogue Wave is coming with Neil Halstead...but they are playing with Jack Johnson at the USANA ampitheater which MAKES NO SENSE to me at all. I'm still so going to this show as not only do I love Rogue Wave but Neil Halstead of Mojave 3, FANTASTIC. No offense to Jack Johnson fans, I mean, cmon, I went to high school with the guy (no joke). Anyway, in all this surfing, I found a site called Stereogum which has streaming songs from a tribute album they did for OK Computer. Check out David Bazan's cover of Let Down. It is perfect. I mean, to cover Radiohead songs is a daunting task in and of itself, but I must say, Mr Bazan outdid himself. There are some other great covers as well from John Vanderslice, Vampire Weekend, etc...

And if OK Computer does not tickle your fancy, try the other tribute album they up of REM's Automatic for the People which has the Shout Out Louds, The Meat Puppets (remember them from the early 90's?), and Rogue Wave.

Spend some time on Stereogum a while and you'll find all kinds of gems like THIS. I think I've only scratched the surface of all the great stuff on this site.

Anyway, if any of you want to fore go the forced Jack Johnson viewing to see Rogue Wave, they are playing at Thanksgiving Point (literally my backyard) next month, May 26th.

This post wins for the most links EVER.

Have a great weekend and maybe I'll see some of you at Thanksgiving Point/USUANA.

Ha ha, I was really excited about Neil Halstead and Rogue Wave as well, but I don't want any of my money going to Jack Johnson. Dang, I need to stop being an indie snob.
