Film is not dead - Version 1.0 - some feedback...

I know, I know, you all want images not words. Don't worry, I will be posting a TON of images over the next week or so.

In the meantime, I wanted to post some feedback I have gotten back from some of the attendees about the workshop. The workshop as a whole was completely successful. The true sign can be found on the last day when the attendees were wanting it not to end and trying to find a way to somehow extend it.

Version 2.0 will be announced soon.

Thank you to all of you who attended and had a hand in this. It has been the most meaningful accomplishment of my photographic career.

"The entire experience of the Film is Not Dead workshop was incredible. I felt SO comfortable with every one of the attendees, and felt a connection through photography and on a personal basis. It was refreshing to be able to ask any question in my head and have it answered so candidly and openly. The workbook was amazing. I love that I can just flip through it anytime now, and recall all of the information. Along with the 20+ pages of notes I took! There are so many things I am taking away from this experience, and plan to incorporate into my own photography. The most important thing would be my vision. I was amazed that on the last day, after only knowing some of these people for three days, tears came to my eyes. I truly feel like I made some lifelong friends. Thanks Jon, and to your entire family for this once in a lifetime opportunity, and for sharing yourselves with me."

"I decided to sign up for this workshop on a whim, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It was not only informative but truly inspiring! Your sincerity and openness on the subjects really helped create a perfect learning environment. It being in Hawaii was also a huge bonus; not only was it refreshing but brought a good vibe to the group and really felt like a bunch of friends hanging out. Also, this workshop could be doubled with the title "food is not dead", sorry I had to say that. Thank you thank you!"

“I went into this workshop hoping to learn but braced for a less than pleasant atmosphere since the industry in general can be secretive and arrogant. I was completely surprised by the warm and open atmosphere and your complete lack of mystery. You welcomed and answered any and all questions – even those that some photographers would have said revealed their “business secrets”. You were extremely fun, patient and energetic. Your enthusiasm for photography and the techniques you taught have recharged my batteries and turned me from dreading my next family formal to being excited for it. Learning about film has also opened my eyes to new options for achieving a certain look and overcoming some technical challenges I have faced with digital photography.“

"Thank you so much for everything! I could go on forever about how impressed I was with the food, location, attendees, and content of the workshop! Any one of those alone would have been worth the price. It takes a lot of courage to pursue an artistic career outside of the corporate world, but you are a walking testament to the fact that if you do that you love, its possible to achieve not only financial success, but real job fulfillment. The workshop kicked me into gear with its “ENERGY LEGS” and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in photography with more resolve than ever. For that I thank you."
